About ROVATE LOTION 30ML

ROVATE LOTION 30ML belongs to a class of drugs called corticosteroids. It is used to reduce swelling and irritation on the skin. It helps to reduce itchiness and swelling of certain skin problems such as dermatitis (itchy, swelling of the skin), eczema (itchy, cracked, swollen or rough skin) or psoriasis (scales and itchy, dry patches). The swelling of the skin occurs when an allergic reaction or skin irritation releases several substances in the skin that widens blood vessels and cause itching, redness, pain, and swelling in the irritated area.

ROVATE LOTION 30ML contains Beclometasone, a steroid that works by acting inside skin cells and inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. When the skin reacts to any type of allergens, such chemicals are released normally.

Use ROVATE LOTION 30ML as prescribed. You are advised to use ROVATE LOTION 30ML for as long as your doctor has prescribed it based on your medical condition. ROVATE LOTION 30ML is for external use only. Avoid contact of ROVATE LOTION 30ML with nose, mouth, or eyes. In case ROVATE LOTION 30ML comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience skin redness, inflamed hair follicles, itching, blistering, or burning sensation at the site of application. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to ROVATE LOTION 30ML or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using ROVATE LOTION 30ML. Do not use ROVATE LOTION 30ML in more than prescribed doses, or on a large area of skin for a prolonged time as it may cause adverse effects. Do not wrap or cover the treated area with a bandage unless advised by your doctor. Avoid using ROVATE LOTION 30ML for more than 5 days in children and on the face. Avoid smoking or going near naked flames as the fabric (bedding, clothing, dressings) that is in contact with ROVATE LOTION 30ML catches fire and burns easily.

BECLOMETASONE-0.025% W/VOther and unspecified infectious diseases
Severe
How does the disease interact with Rovate Lotion 30ml:
Corticosteroids' immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory properties, especially when used in larger doses, have the potential to reduce host resistance to pathogens, impair the ability to localise infections, and disguise infection-related symptoms. Perhaps secondary infections are more likely to occur. In general, individuals with active infections—especially systemic fungal infections—should not be treated with corticosteroids.

How to manage the interaction:
Rovate Lotion 30ml may lower the host resistance to infectious agents, decrease the ability to localize infections, and mask the symptoms of infection. Secondary infections may also develop. It should not be used in patients with active infections unless medically necessary.
BECLOMETASONE-0.025% W/VCarrier of infectious disease
Moderate
How does the disease interact with Rovate Lotion 30ml:
Pharmacologic doses of corticosteroids may reactivate latent tuberculosis in people who have it or who are tuberculin-reactive. If corticosteroid medication is given to individuals with a history of TB or tuberculin reactivity, close monitoring for signs and symptoms of tuberculosis is advised. Consideration may be given to tuberculosis chemoprophylaxis when receiving prolonged corticosteroid medication.

How to manage the interaction:
Rovate Lotion 30ml may cause a reactivation of the disease in patients with latent tuberculosis. It is advised to closely monitor for signs and symptoms of tuberculosis such as cough, tiredness, loss of appetite, and fever.
BECLOMETASONE-0.025% W/VFibrosis and cirrhosis of liver
Moderate
How does the disease interact with Rovate Lotion 30ml:
Due to a reduced rate of metabolism, corticosteroids may have a greater impact on cirrhotic patients. Cirrhotic patients should have their cortisol levels constantly monitored. In some people, dosage modifications might be necessary.

How to manage the interaction:
Rovate Lotion 30ml may have enhanced effects in patients with cirrhosis. Monitoring the condition of patients with cirrhosis is advised.
BECLOMETASONE-0.025% W/VDepressive episode
Moderate
How does the disease interact with Rovate Lotion 30ml:
Psychotic and emotional instability symptoms may be increased severely by corticosteroids. During corticosteroid medication, patients with these disorders should be watched for any worsening or intensification of their symptoms.

How to manage the interaction:
Rovate Lotion 30ml may elevate the symptoms of psychosis and emotional instability. Monitoring of patients with these conditions for increased or worsened symptoms is recommended.
BECLOMETASONE-0.025% W/VType 1 diabetes mellitus
Moderate
How does the disease interact with Rovate Lotion 30ml:
By opposing the effect of insulin and inhibiting its secretion, corticosteroids can increase blood sugar levels. This inhibits peripheral glucose uptake and increases gluconeogenesis. Patients with diabetes mellitus, glucose intolerance, or a tendency for hyperglycemia should receive corticosteroid therapy with caution. During corticosteroid medication, patients with diabetes mellitus should be monitored more carefully, and their anti-diabetic regimen should be changed correspondingly.

How to manage the interaction:
Rovate Lotion 30ml may raise blood glucose levels. Monitoring of blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes is advised.
BECLOMETASONE-0.025% W/VOther disorders of fluid, electrolyte and acid-base balance
Moderate
How does the disease interact with Rovate Lotion 30ml:
Hypernatremia, hypokalemia, and fluid retention are side effects of corticosteroids. Patients who already have electrolyte abnormalities should use corticosteroids with caution. Additionally, care should be taken while managing patients with seizure disorders since electrolyte imbalances might result in seizure activity.

How to manage the interaction:
Rovate Lotion 30ml may cause fluid retention, low potassium, and high sodium levels. Caution is advised in patients with electrolyte disturbances.
BECLOMETASONE-0.025% W/VOedema, not elsewhere classified
Moderate
How does the disease interact with Rovate Lotion 30ml:
Hypernatremia, hypokalemia, fluid retention, and an increase in blood pressure are all possible side effects of corticosteroids. Patients who already have fluid retention, hypertension, congestive heart failure, and/or renal impairment should use corticosteroids with caution. Potassium supplements and dietary salt control may be advised.

How to manage the interaction:
Rovate Lotion 30ml may cause fluid retention, low potassium, high sodium levels, and elevated blood pressure. Caution is advised in patients with pre-existing fluid retention, high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, and/or kidney dysfunction.

Special Advise

  • Do not use bandages or dressing on the face or while using ROVATE LOTION 30ML for children.
  • Avoid contact of ROVATE LOTION 30ML with nose, mouth or eyes. In case ROVATE LOTION 30ML comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly.
