About SIRILEPT 25MG TABLET

SIRILEPT 25MG TABLET belongs to a group of medicines called anti-psychotics used to treat schizophrenia. It may also be used to treat psychosis and other similar conditions. Schizophrenia is a medical condition in which the person may feel, hear or see things that are not there, believe things that are not true, or feel unusually suspicious or confused. 
 
SIRILEPT 25MG TABLET contains Zotepine, which works by modulating the action of chemical messengers in the brain which affect thoughts. Thereby, it helps treat schizophrenia.
 
In some cases, SIRILEPT 25MG TABLET may cause side effects like dry mouth, drowsiness, weight gain, sweating, and movement disorders. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. However, talk to the doctor if any of the side effects persist or worsen.
 
Consult the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not drive or operate machinery as SIRILEPT 25MG TABLET may cause drowsiness and blurred vision. Side effects of Sirilept 25mg Tablet
Here are the steps to Dry Mouth (xerostomia) caused by medication:
  • Inform your doctor about dry mouth symptoms. They may adjust your medication regimen or prescribe additional medications to manage symptoms.
  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help keep your mouth moist and alleviate dry mouth symptoms.
  • Chew sugar-free gum or candies to increase saliva production and keep your mouth moisturized.
  • Use saliva substitutes, such as mouthwashes or sprays, only if your doctor advises them to help moisturize your mouth and alleviate dry mouth symptoms.
  • Avoid consuming smoking, alcohol, spicy or acidic foods, and other irritants that may aggravate dry mouth symptoms.
  • Schedule regular dental check-ups to keep track of your oral health and handle any dry mouth issues as they arise.
  • Get enough sleep. Maintain a regular sleep cycle.
  • Eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly.
  • Manage stress with yoga or meditation.
  • Limit alcohol and caffeine.
  • Avoid driving or operating machinery unless you are alert.

Dry mouth could be a side-effect of SIRILEPT 25MG TABLET. Limiting caffeine intake, avoiding smoking and mouthwashes containing alcohol, drinking water regularly, and chewing sugar-free gum/candy might help stimulate saliva and thereby prevent drying of the mouth.

SIRILEPT 25MG TABLET may cause hypotension (low blood pressure). This might cause you to feel faint when you stand up. If you experience this, do not try to stand up suddenly or start walking; instead, lie down and get up slowly only when you feel better. It is advised to monitor blood pressure levels during treatment with SIRILEPT 25MG TABLET regularly.
