About XYLOCAINE 2% IM INJECTION 30ML

XYLOCAINE 2% IM INJECTION 30ML is indicated for the production of regional or local anaesthesia during surgery or medical procedures. Additionally, it is indicated in the management of ventricular arrhythmia (abnormal heartbeat) associated with acute myocardial infarction, or cardiac surgery.

XYLOCAINE 2% IM INJECTION 30ML contains ‘Lidocaine’ that blocks the influx (entry) of sodium ions into the membrane that surrounds the nerves, thereby preventing initiation and conduction of impulses; hence providing an anaesthetic effect. XYLOCAINE 2% IM INJECTION 30ML blocks cardiac sodium channels, thereby treating arrhythmia.

XYLOCAINE 2% IM INJECTION 30ML will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as dizziness, high/low blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, and paresthesia (burning or prickling sensation). You are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Do not take XYLOCAINE 2% IM INJECTION 30ML if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy or breastfeeding. Avoid driving or operating machinery as XYLOCAINE 2% IM INJECTION 30ML may cause dizziness, drowsiness, and loss of sensation. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medications to rule out any interactions/side effects.
