About ZANOCIN EYE DROPS

ZANOCIN EYE DROPS belongs to the class of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial eye infections including conjunctivitis and ulcers of the cornea. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid. 

ZANOCIN EYE DROPS contains Ofloxacin which works by inhibiting DNA gyrase (bacterial enzyme) involved in repairing and replicating the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria. Thereby, kills bacteria and clears infection.

Use ZANOCIN EYE DROPS as prescribed by your doctor. ZANOCIN EYE DROPS is only for use in eyes. You are advised to use ZANOCIN EYE DROPS for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience dry eyes, blurred vision, eye discomfort, eye redness, mild itching, or irritation in the eye. Most of these side effects of ZANOCIN EYE DROPS do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. 

If you are allergic to ZANOCIN EYE DROPS or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. ZANOCIN EYE DROPS should be used for children only in doses as advised by the doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before using ZANOCIN EYE DROPS. Drive only if your vision is clear as ZANOCIN EYE DROPS may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using. You are advised to remove soft contact lenses before using ZANOCIN EYE DROPS. 

Uses of ZANOCIN EYE DROPS

Directions for Use

ZANOCIN EYE DROPS is for ophthalmic use only. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using ZANOCIN EYE DROPS. Do not touch the container’s tip to the eye, eyelids, or surrounding areas as it may contaminate ZANOCIN EYE DROPS.Eye drops: Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Replace the outer cap after use. Eye ointment: Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Squeeze a tiny amount of the ointment into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.

You are not recommended to wear contact lenses while using ZANOCIN EYE DROPS as it contains benzalkonium chloride, a preservative that changes the colour of contact lens as it may be absorbed by soft contact lens. Benzalkonium chloride also causes irritation in the eye especially if you have disorders of cornea (transparent layer at the front of eye) or dry eyes. Therefore, you are advised to remove contact lenses before using ZANOCIN EYE DROPS and reinsert them after 15 minutes after using ZANOCIN EYE DROPS. Also, inform your doctor if you experience pain, stinging or abnormal sensation in the eye after using ZANOCIN EYE DROPS.

ZANOCIN EYE DROPS may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using. Therefore, you are recommended to wait until your vision is clear before driving or operating machinery.

ZANOCIN EYE DROPS is not used to treat fungal infection in the eye. ZANOCIN EYE DROPS is only used to treat bacterial eye infections.

You are not recommended to stop using ZANOCIN EYE DROPS without consulting your doctor as it may worsen the infection. Therefore, use ZANOCIN EYE DROPS for as long as your doctor has prescribed it and if you experience any difficulty while using ZANOCIN EYE DROPS, please consult your doctor.
