Hepanip Tablet is a combination medicine, primarily used to treat hepatic encephalopathy, indigestion and inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis). Indigestion is the inability to digest food that is associated with pain and discomfort in the stomach. Hepatic encephalopathy is a liver disease in which the liver does not remove the toxins from the body, which leads to loss of brain function.

Hepanip Tablet contains L-Ornithine-L-Aspartate and Pancreatin. L-Ornithine-L-Aspartate helps increase the levels of amino acids, ornithine and aspartic acid in the body. This increase in the amino acids helps in ammonia detoxification (ammonia is a toxic waste product that needs to be eliminated from the body). Pancreatin is a digestive enzyme that is a combination of lipase, protease, and amylase enzymes. Medical conditions like inflammation of the pancreas can cause digestive issues by lacking these enzymes. Pancreatin helps in replacing these enzymes and helps in the digestion of carbohydrates, proteins and fats.

Please take Hepanip Tablet in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor based on your medical condition. Hepanip Tablet is generally safe to use. However, some may experience side effects like nausea and vomiting. Although not everyone experiences these side effects, if they occur, please seek medical attention.

Let your doctor know if you have any history of liver or kidney diseases, pancreatectomy (surgical removal of all or part of the pancreas), and gastrectomy (removal of part or all of the stomach). Pregnant and breastfeeding women should use Hepanip Tablet with proper consultation and caution. Be cautious while driving and operating machinery as it is unknown if Hepanip Tablet interferes with your ability to drive. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Hepanip Tablet as it could lead to further liver damage. Hepanip Tablet should not be given to children unless prescribed by the doctor.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Let your doctor know if you are using any prescription, non-prescription medicines, herbal or vitamin supplements before you take Hepanip Tablet .

Drug-Food Interaction: Alcohol consumption can further lead to liver damage.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Hepanip Tablet should be cautiously administered when you have any liver or kidney diseases, pancreatectomy, and gastrectomy.

• Please take foods rich in probiotics such as yoghurt/curd, kefir, sauerkraut, tempeh, kimchi, miso, kombucha, buttermilk, natto, and cheese.
• Eat fibre-rich food like whole grains, beans, lentils, berries, broccoli, peas, and bananas to aid digestion.
• Avoid intake of alcoholic beverages with Hepanip Tablet as it can make you dehydrated and increase acidity. 
• Avoid overeating, eating too fast, eating high-fat foods, or eating during stressful situations that can burden your stomach.
• Eat small meals at regular intervals so that stomach does not have to work as hard or as long.
• Smoking can irritate the stomach lining, hence please avoid it.
• Sleep with your head elevated (at least 6 inches) above your feet and use pillows. This helps digestive juices to flow into the intestines rather than to the oesophagus.

• Monitor your liver health with liver function tests regularly.
• Your doctor may advise you to get tested timely for urea levels in the serum and urine.
