About Sorvate Ointment

Sorvate Ointment belongs to the class of a vitamin D analogue indicated for the topical treatment of mild to moderate plaque psoriasis in adults and children two years of age and older. Plaque psoriasis is the most common form of psoriasis. It causes dry, itchy, raised skin patches (plaques) covered with scales.

Sorvate Ointment contains the active substance calcitriol. It works by lowering the activity of immune cells in the skin and helps to inhibit the formation of excess skin cells that can stack up and create scales on the skin.

These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. If these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.

Brief your medical history to the doctor if you are allergic to calcitriol or its components. Inform your doctor before using Sorvate Ointment if you are pregnant, want to become pregnant, or are currently nursing. Please let your doctor know if you have a history of liver or kidney disease, hypercalcaemia (high calcium levels in the blood), or hypervitaminosis D. (excess Vitamin D levels in the blood). Sorvate Ointment is not suggested for children under the age of two. While using Sorvate Ointment, avoid making contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. If you get this medicine in these places, rinse with water thoroughly.
