Aeszocin Injection 1 ml belongs to a group of medicines called opiates/narcotic analgesics used to relieve moderate to severe pain. It is indicated in the management of pain severe enough to require an opioid analgesic for which alternative treatment is inadequate. It is also used as a pre-anaesthetic or pre-operative medication and as a supplement to surgical anaesthesia.
Aeszocin Injection 1 ml contains ‘Pentazocine’, which works by changing the way the nervous system and brain respond to pain. Thereby, Aeszocin Injection 1 ml helps provide relief from pain.
In some cases, Aeszocin Injection 1 ml may cause common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness or lightheadedness and euphoria. You are advised to talk to your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Do not take Aeszocin Injection 1 ml if you are allergic to any of its components; if you have significant respiratory depression, acute or severe bronchial asthma in the absence of resuscitative equipment or in an unmonitored setting, gastrointestinal obstruction, including paralytic ileus. Inform your doctor if you have/had liver or kidney problems, adrenal insufficiency, severe hypotension, seizures, myocardial infarction, or biliary surgery. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Concomitant use of opioids with benzodiazepines, and other central nervous system agents, including alcohol, might result in profound sedation, respiratory depression, coma, and death. Aeszocin Injection 1 ml may cause serious respiratory depression; hence monitoring is advised.
Drug-Drug Interactions: Inform your doctor if you are taking benzodiazepines, central nervous system agents, serotonergic drugs, mixed agonists/antagonists, partial agonist opioid analgesics, muscle relaxants, diuretics, or anticholinergic drugs.
