Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet is an antibiotic medication primarily used to treat diarrhoea, dysentery and stomach infections. Dysentery is an intestinal infection generally lasting for three to seven days, causing severe diarrhoea with blood. Diarrhoea is a condition in which bowel movements are too frequent, leading to loose, watery stools. Acute diarrhoea is a common problem and generally lasts for one or two days, whereas chronic diarrhoea lasts four weeks.

Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics, Norfloxacin and Tinidazole, primarily taken to treat diarrhoea, dysentery, and severe stomach infections. Norfloxacin helps by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and hence killing the bacteria. Tinidazole kills parasites that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Both of them help effectively treat the infection by killing the bacteria as they are bactericidal in nature.

Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet can be taken with or without food. For best results, take Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet as advised by your doctor. Do not chew, crush, or break it. Like all medicines, Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet may cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Some side effects of Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet include nausea, dryness of mouth, stomach upset, headache. Most of these side effects of Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet should not be taken if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not start using a new medication without telling your doctor. Diarrhoea can cause dehydration, so please increase the intake of fluids. If you have constipation or have blood in stools, do not take Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet. Consumption of alcohol, along with Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet, can cause stomach irritation and increased drowsiness.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet may have interaction with pain killers (aspirin, ibuprofen), anti-coagulant/blood thinner (warfarin), anti-gout (probenecid), antibiotic (azithromycin, sulfamethoxazole, ciprofloxacin, trimethoprim, amoxicillin, metronidazole, nitrofurantoin, erythromycin), calcium supplements (calcium/vitamin D), antidiabetics (Glyburide), antiepileptics (Phenobarbital, Phenytoin) and live vaccines (cholera, typhoid).

Drug-Food Interaction: Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet is known to interact with multivitamins, caffeine, dairy products, multi-minerals.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet is known to interact if taken along with colitis (inflammation of the colon), CNS disorders, myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness), kidney or liver problems, peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage of brain), QT interval prolongation, history of tendon rupture, neurological disorders, blood dyscrasia (abnormal disease of blood).

• Antibiotics can alter the useful bacteria in the stomach, which helps indigestion. Therefore, you are advised to take foods rich in probiotics such as yoghurt/curd, kefir, sauerkraut, tempeh, kimchi, miso, kombucha, buttermilk, natto, and cheese.
• Eat fibre-rich food like whole grains, beans, lentils, berries, broccoli, peas and bananas.
• Avoid foods rich in calcium, grapefruit and grapefruit juice as they might hinder antibiotic's absorption.
• Avoid consumption of alcohol to treat your condition effectively.
• Avoid usage of tobacco.
• To cure your condition effectually, complete the full course of Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet even though you find symptomatic relief.

• Diarrhea can cause dehydration, so please increase the intake of fluids.
• Norfloxacin present in Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet is known to cause tendon rupture, so be cautious while taking Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet if you have a tendon rupture history.
• Norfloxacin present in Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet may cause live bacterial vaccines (such as typhoid vaccine) to not work as well. Do not have any immunizations/vaccinations while using this medication unless your doctor tells you to.

• You must avoid being in the sunlight for too long as Enflox TD 400mg/600mg Tablet may make you more sensitive to the sun.
