Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet belongs to the group of antihypertensive agents used to treat high blood pressure/hypertension and angina pectoris. High blood pressure is a condition in which the blood exerts increased pressure on the walls of blood vessels. Angina is basically a pain in the heart and chest. 

Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet contains Metoprolol succinate and Amlodipine. Metoprolol succinate works by slowing down the heart rate, thereby making it more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Amlodipine relaxes the blood vessels, thereby improving blood flow. Together, Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet helps treat high blood pressure.

Take Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet as prescribed. In some cases, Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet may cause certain common side effects such as tiredness, dizziness, headache, ankle swelling and slow heart rate. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen.

It is advisable to inform the doctor if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding. Keep your doctor informed in case you are due to undergo any surgery or dental procedure. Avoid consuming alcohol with Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet as there may be an interaction. Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet  may cause dizziness, therefore, drive only if you are alert.

Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Metoprolol succinate and Amlodipine. It is used primarily to treat hypertension and to relax the blood vessels for seamless flow of blood. Metoprolol succinate is a beta-blocker that eases the symptoms of hypertension by blocking catecholamines that lead to increased pressure and heart rate. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that decreases blood pressure by preventing the influx of calcium ions into cells and by enlarging and relaxing arteries. In addition, Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet also reduces the oxygen demands of the heart, relaxing the heart and blood vessels and requiring the heart to do less work.

Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet should not be used in case of any known allergy to either of the components. Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet should be used with caution in case of high risk or previous history of any arterial or thrombotic disorders, shock, cardiovascular health disorders, diabetes, heart failure, or any disease-causing psoriasis. Please inform your doctor in case of any history of an overactive thyroid, asthma, phaeochromocytoma (high BP due to a tumour in the adrenal glands), myasthenia gravis (neuromuscular disorder), COPD, heart block, liver disease or renal disease. Consult your doctor before using Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Keep your doctor informed in case you are waiting to undergo any surgery or dental procedure. Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet may interact with alcohol, please consult your doctor before use. Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet may cause dizziness, so drive or operate heavy machinery only if you are alert. 

• Limit the intake of salt in your diet.
• Cut back on foods that are high in fat and cholesterol.
• Eat more fruits, vegetables and whole-grain foods.
• Avoid taking Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet with grapefruit juice as there may be an interaction.
• Avoid tobacco use. Inform your doctor in case of marijuana use.
• Dress warmly, as Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet may cause cold extremities.

• In case you miss a dose of Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet , take it as soon as possible. However, if it is too close to the next dose, revert to the original schedule. Do not ever take a double dose.
• If you accidentally take an extra dose of Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet , please inform your doctor immediately. Some of the common symptoms of an overdose can be low blood pressure, slow pulse rate, shortness of breath, low blood sugar, dizziness, feeling sick and blue discolouration of the skin.
• Do not discontinue taking Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet abruptly or without the advice of the physician.
• Please know that your doctor may order blood tests to check your tolerance and need of Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet .
• Saanbeta XL 25 Tablet should be used with caution in case of those over 80 or under 40 years of age.
