Uses:
Bacterial infections
Medicinal Benefits:
Cefben-OL Tablet 10's contains Cefixime (cephalosporin antibiotic), ofloxacin (fluoroquinolone antibiotic), and lactic acid bacillus (probiotic). Cefben-OL Tablet 10's is indicated in the treatment of gastrointestinal infections, urinary tract infections, otitis media (infection of the middle ear), meningitis (inflammation of the meninges), SSTI (skin and soft tissue infections), pneumonia, typhoid fever, post-operative surgery infections, and septicemia (blood poisoning caused by bacteria). Cefixime prevents the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for the survival of the bacteria. Ofloxacin prevents the bacteria from repairing and reproducing. Thus, kills the bacteria. Lactic acid bacillus helps restore the balance of good bacteria in the gut, which may have gotten upset due to the infection. It also helps reduce the gastrointestinal side effects occurring due to antibiotics. Together, Cefben-OL Tablet 10's helps in treating bacterial infections.
Cefben-OL Tablet 10's prevents the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for the survival of the bacteria and prevents the bacteria from multiplying and repairing themselves. Thereby kills the bacteria.
Do not stop taking Cefben-OL Tablet 10's despite symptomatic relief. To treat your condition effectually, continue taking Cefben-OL Tablet 10's for as long as it has been prescribed for you. Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you experience any difficulty whilst taking Cefben-OL Tablet 10's.
Cefben-OL Tablet 10's is less likely to cause diarrhoea as it contains lactic acid bacillus, a probiotic which helps in restoring the balance of good bacteria in the gut which may have gotten upset due to infection. However, if you experience diarrhoea, drink plenty of fluids and eat non-spicy food. Consult your doctor if you have severe diarrhoea.
Do not take Cefben-OL Tablet 10's on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. Take Cefben-OL Tablet 10's only if prescribed by the doctor.
