Midaspray 0.5mg Nasal Spray 50 MDI belongs to a class of drugs called benzodiazepines used for the short-term treatment of seizure clusters. Seizure clusters are episodes of elevated seizure activity, defined as two or more seizures occurring within a 24-hour period. They are upsetting situations that can leave you feeling anxious, frustrated, or helpless.
Midaspray 0.5mg Nasal Spray 50 MDI contains Midazolam which works by increasing GABA activity (a chemical messenger in the brain). Thus, Midaspray 0.5mg Nasal Spray 50 MDI suppresses the excessive and abnormal activity of nerve cells in the brain and controls fits.
Use Midaspray 0.5mg Nasal Spray 50 MDI as prescribed and for the duration as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. Sometimes, it may cause side effects such as headache, drowsiness, runny nose, throat irritation, and nasal discomfort. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Midazolam or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy or are breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking Midaspray 0.5mg Nasal Spray 50 MDI. Midaspray 0.5mg Nasal Spray 50 MDI is not recommended for children below 12 years as the safety and effectiveness were not established. Avoid consumption of alcohol with Midaspray 0.5mg Nasal Spray 50 MDI as it may cause increased drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how Midaspray 0.5mg Nasal Spray 50 MDI affects you. Avoid using Midaspray 0.5mg Nasal Spray 50 MDI if you have acute narrow-angle glaucoma (eye problem). Do not take Midaspray 0.5mg Nasal Spray 50 MDI with opioids until and unless prescribed by a doctor, as it may increase the risk of breathing problems, severe drowsiness or coma.
