Vasolazine Tablet

Vasolazine Tablet belongs to a group of heart-related medicines called 'vasodilators used to treat heart failure. Heart failure occurs when the heart muscle does not pump blood normally, including shortness of breath, swollen legs, fatigue and increased heartbeat. In this condition, the heart becomes too weak and cannot pump enough blood and oxygen to the organs and tissues of our body. 

Vasolazine Tablet is a fixed-dose combination composed of two medicines: Isosorbide dinitrate and Hydralazine. Isosorbide dinitrate is a group of drugs known as nitrates that relax the heart's muscles and widen the heart's veins and arteries for easy flow of blood to every part of our body. It is used to treat angina (chest pain) and other heart-related diseases due to a shortage of oxygen and blood. Hydralazine belongs to a group of drugs known as vasodilators which help lowers raised blood pressure by relaxing and widening the heart's muscles. 

Vasolazine Tablet is available in the form of oral tablets. Take Vasolazine Tablet as your doctor has prescribed it. Doses of the Vasolazine Tablet will decide by your doctor, but generally, start with low doses and increase the amount. In some cases, Vasolazine Tablet can cause side effects like headache, nausea, dizziness, and lightheadedness (feeling faint). Most of these side effects of Vasolazine Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.

If you are known to be allergic to Vasolazine Tablet or any other medicines, please inform your doctor. Before taking Vasolazine Tablet, let your doctor know if you have had a heart attack within the last 30 days, low blood pressure, stroke (inadequate blood supply in the brain that causes damage to the brain), or high pressure within the brain. Please do not stop taking Vasolazine Tablet on your own, which may lead to the recurrence of symptoms or worsen the condition.

Do not take Vasolazine Tablet if you have low blood pressure because even a low dose of Vasolazine Tablet may produce low blood pressure. If you are pregnant or planning any pregnancy, let your doctor know about this before taking Vasolazine Tablet as it crosses the placenta and can affect the unborn baby (fetus). Do not drive by using this Vasolazine Tablet because it produces dizziness that may cause an accident. You may experience tingling or numbness, so your doctor may prescribe a vitamin B6 supplement (pyridoxine). Hydralazine passes into breast milk, so its use in lactating mothers should be avoided. 

• Follow a cholesterol-lowering diet.
• Consume low salt and a low-fat diet.
• Exercise regularly. It helps in maintaining proper weight and lowers cholesterol.
• Limit salt and sugar intake.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
• Choose healthy fats and cut down on trans fat.
• Include omega-3 fatty acids, fibre-rich food, fruits, and vegetables.
• Get active by doing physical activities such as swimming, brisk walking, or jogging. Take the stairs instead of elevators/lifts.

Heart failure symptoms include shortness of breath, swollen legs, fatigue (lack of energy or feeling of tiredness), and increased heartbeat. In this condition, the heart becomes too weak and does not pump enough. It is a life-threatening condition and requires immediate hospitalization.
