Phenasol 25 Injection 1 ml belongs to a group of medicines called 'antipsychotics/neuroleptics,' primarily used to treat psychotic disorders like schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a mental condition in which the person may feel, hear or see things that are not there (hallucinations), believe things that are not true, and feel unusually suspicious or confused. 

Phenasol 25 Injection 1 ml contains 'Fluphenazine' that belongs to the class of phenothiazines. It works by affecting the balance of the neurotransmitters in the brain. Thereby, Phenasol 25 Injection 1 ml decreases psychotic symptoms like hallucinations, delusions, and hostility (unfriendly or opposed behaviour) associated with schizophrenia. Phenasol 25 Injection 1 ml is intended for use in the management of patients requiring prolonged parenteral antipsychotic therapy.

Your doctor will decide the dose and duration based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Common side effects of Phenasol 25 Injection 1 ml include lethargy/tiredness, drowsiness, headache, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, loss of appetite, dry mouth, constipation, stuffy nose, sweating, weight changes, and pain/redness/swelling at the injection site. Phenasol 25 Injection 1 ml is not recommended for treatment in patients with dementia-related psychosis. If you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or a breastfeeding mother, inform your doctor before starting Phenasol 25 Injection 1 ml. Avoid consuming alcohol while being treated with Phenasol 25 Injection 1 ml as it can make you dizzy or drowsy. Do not drive or operate machinery since it can make you sleepy and interfere with your driving ability. Phenasol 25 Injection 1 ml is not approved for children younger than 12 years of age.

Phenasol 25 Injection 1 ml is not recommended for children below 12 years of age as safety and effectiveness have not been established.

• Exercise regularly as it helps in less cognitive decline and brain volume loss.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
• Try to avoid stress by practising meditation or yoga.
• Include fruits and vegetables in your diet as they contain antioxidants.
• Eat nutritious food as it helps in cognitive stimulation.
• Limit foods with high cholesterol and saturated fats.
• Cut down on sugar, salt and processed foods.
• Drink plenty of water.
• Follow a regular sleep pattern.

This medicine may interfere with tests for pregnancy and phenylketonuria and some urine tests. Let your doctor or laboratory staff know you are taking Phenasol 25 Injection 1 ml if you undergo other medical examinations.
