Schizophrenia is a mental condition in which the person may feel, hear or see things that are not there (hallucinations), believe things that are not true, and feel unusually suspicious or confused. 

Phenvator 25mg Injection contains 'Fluphenazine' that belongs to the class of phenothiazines. It works by affecting the balance of the neurotransmitters in the brain. Thereby, Phenvator 25mg Injection decreases psychotic symptoms like hallucinations, delusions, and hostility (unfriendly or opposed behaviour) associated with schizophrenia. Phenvator 25mg Injection is intended for use in the management of patients requiring prolonged parenteral antipsychotic therapy.

Your doctor will decide the dose and duration based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Common side effects of Phenvator 25mg Injection include lethargy/tiredness, drowsiness, headache, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, loss of appetite, dry mouth, constipation, stuffy nose, sweating, weight changes, and pain/redness/swelling at the injection site. These side effects are not familiar to everyone and vary individually. If you notice any side effects that are not manageable, please consult your doctor.

Phenvator 25mg Injection is not recommended for treatment in patients with dementia-related psychosis. Inform your doctor before starting Phenvator 25mg Injection if you have a history of liver/kidney/heart diseases, breathing problems, blood cell disorder, Parkinson's disease, glaucoma, breast cancer, depression, or fits. If you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or a breastfeeding mother, inform your doctor before starting Phenvator 25mg Injection. Avoid consuming alcohol while being treated with Phenvator 25mg Injection as it can make you dizzy or drowsy. Do not drive or operate machinery since it can make you sleepy and interfere with your driving ability. Phenvator 25mg Injection is not approved for children younger than 12 years of age.

Phenvator 25mg Injection is not recommended for children below 12 years of age as safety and effectiveness have not been established.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Phenvator 25mg Injection may interact with anti-hypertensives (clonidine), opioid pain relievers (codeine, hydrocodone), anti-anxiety drugs (alprazolam, lorazepam), muscle relaxants (carisoprodol, cyclobenzaprine), anti-allergic drugs (cetirizine), common cold medicines (diphenhydramine), antidepressants (lithium), and heart-related drugs (quinidine).

Drug-Food Interaction: Do not consume alcohol while undergoing treatment with Phenvator 25mg Injection, as it could lead to increased dizziness and drowsiness.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Phenvator 25mg Injection is not recommended in dementia-related psychosis, comatose or severely depressed states, patients receiving large doses of hypnotics, subcortical brain damage, and allergic reactions to Fluphenazine.

• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
• Try to avoid stress by practising meditation or yoga.
• Include fruits and vegetables in your diet as they contain antioxidants.
• Eat nutritious food as it helps in cognitive stimulation.
• Limit foods with high cholesterol and saturated fats.
• Cut down on sugar, salt and processed foods.
• Drink plenty of water.
• Follow a regular sleep pattern.

This medicine may interfere with tests for pregnancy and phenylketonuria and some urine tests. Let your doctor or laboratory staff know you are taking Phenvator 25mg Injection if you undergo other medical examinations.
