About Sizonorm Injection 1 ml

Sizonorm Injection 1 ml belongs to a group of medicines called 'antipsychotics/neuroleptics,' primarily used to treat psychotic disorders like schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a mental condition in which the person may feel, hear or see things that are not there (hallucinations), believe things that are not true, and feel unusually suspicious or confused.

Sizonorm Injection 1 ml contains 'Fluphenazine' that belongs to the class of phenothiazines. It works by affecting the balance of the neurotransmitters in the brain. Thereby, Sizonorm Injection 1 ml decreases psychotic symptoms like hallucinations, delusions, and hostility (unfriendly or opposed behaviour) associated with schizophrenia. Sizonorm Injection 1 ml is intended for use in the management of patients requiring prolonged parenteral antipsychotic therapy.

Your doctor will decide the dose and duration based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Common side effects of Sizonorm Injection 1 ml include lethargy/tiredness, drowsiness, headache, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, loss of appetite, dry mouth, constipation, stuffy nose, sweating, weight changes, and pain/redness/swelling at the injection site. These side effects are not familiar to everyone and vary individually. If you notice any side effects that are not manageable, please consult your doctor.

Sizonorm Injection 1 ml is not recommended for treatment in patients with dementia-related psychosis.
