Uses of Bemcentinib
Medicinal Benefits
Bemcentinib is an immunomodulator used in the treatment of various types of cancers and infections, such as Covid-19. Bemcentinib contains Bemcentinib. Bemcentinib works by inhibiting the entry of the virus into the body cells. Bemcentinib targets a protein receptor called AXL, a common attachment and entry point for most viruses. In addition, Bemcentinib prevents the inhibition of Type-I interferon, which is responsible for the cell’s natural defence mechanism. Bemcentinib also works by blocking the enzyme responsible for catalysing the increase in drug resistance and immune escape, thus helping in maintaining the normal immune function of cells and enhancing drug sensitivity.

- Keep yourself at a safe distance from people.
- Always sneeze or cough into your elbow and keep a handkerchief on you.
- Wash your hands with soap and water and keep yourself clean.
- Eat more lean meats, healthy fats, fruits, vegetables and whole-grain foods to give you more energy. Load up on Vitamin-C-rich citrus fruit for enhanced immunity.
- Do not forget to take your Vitamin B complex and Vitamin C supplements every day, as these are essential for the body and immunity.
- Steam inhalation for 3-5 minutes every day and salt-water gargling with warm water has been proven very effective in keeping respiratory infections at bay and in promoting health.
- Avoid taking Bemcentinib with alcohol as there may be an interaction.
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, as dehydration is often seen in pneumonia.

Patients Concern
Disease/Condition Glossary
Coronavirus Disease: Coronavirus disease is an infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It can range from a mild cold, cough and fever to full-blown pneumonia. Drop in oxygen saturation and breathlessness was also common symptoms noted. However, the new variant of Omicron is supposed to cause only a mild disease characterised by a scratchy throat and fatigue.
Melanoma: Melanoma is a type of skin cancer caused by harmful UV radiation from the sun. It is common in fair-skinned and freckled individuals. It results in mole formation, typically on the skin of the face.
Acute Myeloid Leukaemia: Acute myeloid leukaemia is a cancer of the blood cells. It starts in the bone marrow, producing excess immature and defunct white blood cells (WBCs). WBCs help in fighting infection and maintaining the immunity of the body. In the case of immature WBCs, the body’s immune system is heavily compromised. Hence, AML results in increased infections, anaemia, joint pains and aches, dehydration, fatigue, weight loss and unusual bleeding.
FAQs

If you suffer from CKD, please consult with your doctor before using Bemcentinib and discuss any concerns with them. Bemcentinib is to be used with caution in those suffering from kidney and liver problems.
Only an RT-PCR test can determine whether or not you have COVID. While a loss of smell has been noted as a common symptom, the new variant does not cause a loss of smell.
