Cefetamet

About

Cefetamet belongs to the group of antibiotics medicines called cephalosporins used to treat bacterial infections such as ear, nose, and/or throat infections, sinusitis, otitis media, lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, pneumonia, pharyngotonsillitis, tracheobronchitis, and gonococcal urethritis in men.

Cefetamet contains Cefetamet, which prevents the bacteria from forming the cell wall required for survival. Thereby, it helps treat bacterial infections.

In some cases, Cefetamet may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, consult a doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Do not take Cefetamet if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medications to rule out any side effects/interactions.

Uses of Cefetamet

Bacterial infections

Medicinal Benefits

Cefetamet contains Cefetamet, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections such as ear, nose, and/or throat infections, sinusitis (inflammation of cavities in the nasal passage), otitis media (infection of the middle ear), lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, pneumonia, pharyngotonsillitis (inflammation of the tonsils and throat), tracheobronchitis (inflammation of the trachea and bronchi), acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, and gonococcal urethritis in men. Cefetamet works by inhibiting the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis in the bacterial cell wall by binding to one or more of the penicillin-binding proteins. Thereby, Cefetamet helps treat bacterial infection.
