Metamizole
About
Metamizole belongs to a group of medicines called pyrazolones indicated to relieve acute severe pain after injury or surgery, colic pain, tumour pain, other acute or chronic pain where other medicines are not indicated, and high fever not responding to other medicines.
Metamizole contains Metamizole, which works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX)-1 and 2 and reducing prostaglandin synthesis. Thereby, Metamizole helps provide relief from pain.
In some cases, Metamizole may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dizziness, and dyspepsia. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and resolve over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.
Let the doctor know if you are allergic to any components in Metamizole. Consult the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Metamizole may impair your ability to drive; drive or operate machinery only if you are alert. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side effects/interactions.
