Papain+diastase+pepsin belongs to the class of combination medication called 'digestive aid' primarily used to treat digestive disorders. Papain+diastase+pepsin effectively treats dyspepsia (indigestion), pancreatic insufficiency (inability to produce pancreatic enzymes), thereby relieving symptoms of indigestions like flatulence (gas), upper abdominal pain and bloating. It is also used as an appetite stimulant and relieves sour stomach and eructation (burping). Indigestion is the inability to digest food associated with pain and discomfort in the stomach due to various conditions of illness. 

Papain+diastase+pepsin contains three digestive enzymes, namely: Papain, Diastase and Pepsin. Papain is a proteolytic enzyme (the breakdown of protein) extracted from the papaya plant's raw fruit. A proteolytic enzyme breaks down the proteins into simple forms called peptides and amino acids, improving digestion in infections, diarrhoea and allergies.
