About Zaltoprofen
Zaltoprofen is an analgesic and anti-inflammatory medicine used in the treatment of pain and inflammation. Pain can be acute (temporary) or chronic (long-lasting). Acute pain is a short-term pain caused by damage to the tissues of the muscle, bone, or other organs. Chronic pain lasts for a long duration and is caused due to pathologies like nerve damage, etc. Zaltoprofen is used to help relieve pain associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, etc. This medicine also helps relieve headaches, back pain, leg pain, and dental pain.

These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. Zaltoprofen should be taken as advised by your doctor. Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Zaltoprofen can be given with or without food. Your doctor will decide the dose of this medicine depending on the type and severity of the infection.
Zaltoprofen should be avoided if you are allergic to it or any other contents in the formulation. Inform your doctor about your health condition and medications, including over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, and complete medical history to rule out any possible side effects/interactions. Also, inform the doctor if you have any history of gastrointestinal disorders, liver/kidney disease, heart problems, asthma or are using any other pain relievers before starting treatment with Zaltoprofen. Patients Concern
Disease/Condition Glossary
Pain: Pain can be short-term (acute) or long-term (chronic). Acute pain is, for a short time, caused by damage to the tissues of the muscle, bone, or organs. In contrast, chronic pain lasts for a longer duration. It is caused due to pathologies like nerve damage, Osteoarthritis, and dental pain due to damage to the tooth nerve, infection, decay, extraction, or injury.
Osteoarthritis: It is a degenerative joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering of cartilage. Due to the absence of this protective covering, the joints rub against each other, leading to pain and stiffness. Symptoms of osteoarthritis include pain, stiffness, inflammation, and tenderness. The main reason for osteoarthritis is age; the older you are, the more likely you are to get osteoarthritis, thus known as degenerative disease, meaning that the joints wear out as a person ages. Other reasons might include past injuries such as torn cartilage and dislocated joints and ligaments.
Rheumatoid arthritis: It is an auto-immune disease (the body's immune system attacks its tissue) that causes joint pain and damage. It occurs when the immune system does not work properly. Symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis include pain, swelling, stiffness, deformities, and loss of joint function.
Ankylosing spondylitis: It causes pain and stiffness in the spine. The pain generally starts in the lower back and can spread to the neck, damaged joints, or other body parts. Ankylosing spondylitis symptoms include decreased flexibility, which usually leads to a hunched-forward posture and pain in the back and joints.
