Cefuroxime works by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall (a protective covering) necessary for survival. Thereby damaging the bacterial cell wall and killing bacteria. Lactobacillus helps to restore good bacteria in the intestines. Thereby, it prevents diarrhoea and loss of beneficial bacteria due to the prolonged intake of antibiotics.
