Fluticasone Propionate+mupirocin contains Fluticasone propionate and mupirocin. Fluticasone Propionate+mupirocin is used in the treatment of skin infections. Fluticasone topical is used to reduce inflammation and relieve itching, redness, dryness and scaling associated with various skin conditions, whereas mupirocin kills bacteria by destroying the bacterial cell membrane.
Fluticasone Propionate+mupirocin is a combination of fluticasone dipropionate and mupirocin. Fluticasone propionate blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Mupirocin works by stopping the production of necessary proteins needed for bacterial surveillance. It is also active against Gram-negative organisms such as Escherichia coli and Haemophilus influenza. It is not effective against fungal or viral infections.
Fluticasone Propionate+mupirocin should only be taken if advised by your doctor. This cream should not be used on children below 2 months of age.
