It is a fungal infection of the vagina and tissues at the opening of the vagina vulva. Symptoms may include irritation, discharge and intense itchiness of the vagina and the vulva tissues at the vaginal opening.

Tioconazole may cause common side effects like application site reactions such as burning, irritation, itching, redness, and vaginal pain. The vagina naturally contains a balanced mix of yeast, including candida and bacteria. An overgrowth of candida or penetration of the fungus into deeper vaginal cell layers causes infection.
